I’m going too have read this a few times over a period of time, to really have it sink in. That said, I think this type of simplified interaction will be necessary, especially when we consider augmented reality a virtual reality work stations that are in development right now.

Real life objects are simple, and mono functional–like a module in your spec. Being able to place and sort these modules in a 3D space will be much easier than the current paradigm of all mail being in an email inbox and all design being in Photoshop, or whatever.

In real life, we cluster things in far more organic and contextual things. In a drawer we may find a letter, a drawing, some pencils, a passport, etc. On a computer, save for some flexibility with file types and folders–especially now with a mix of files and URLs–our information is more fragmented than ever.
